Youngman Choi is an interdisciplinary artist and graduate student
in the IAMD program at OCAD University. Holding a BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology, his background in photography serves as the foundation for a practice that now spans sculpture, new media, and digital abstraction.
Choi’s work investigates the hidden narratives within industrial landscapes.
Rejecting the "hunt" for spectacular subjects, he focuses on the immediate environment, transforming high-voltage towers into complex, monstrous, and spiritual forms. His ongoing series, including My Silence and 3 Towers, utilize layering and negative space to shift the viewer’s perception from the physical object to the manifestation of invisible energy
